Change isn't always a bad thing and when it comes to your family's meal times, changing them just a little may result in a positive effect on reducing body fat. A recent study found that families who delayed their breakfast by 90 minutes and eat dinner 90 minutes earlier, on average, lost more than twice as much body fat as those who kept their meal times stagnant. It also found families that moved their meal times ate less food overall than the control group. Participants said they ate less food due to reduced appetite, decreased eating opportunities, or a cutback in snacking especially in the evening. Study authors said although the study was small, it provided invaluable insight into how slight alterations to our meal times can have benefits to our bodies. Reduction in body fat lessens our chances of developing obesity and related diseases, so is vital in improving our overall health.
