Potato Chips Aren't All That bad

When it comes to snack foods, potato chips are the healthiest unhealthy snack to eat! In a wasteland of processed junk foods, potato chips stand out as a heroic option, usually featuring only three ingredients: potatoes, vegetable oil, and salt. Not to mention the humble potato packs a wallop of potassium even in chip form. A 100g serving has 1,196mg of potassium, which is more than a similarly sized banana and a good chunk of your daily recommended value of 3,500mg. Vegetable oil has its health benefits too. It contains linolic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid, which is an important part of healthy diet. Now potato chips should not be among your dietary staples as any fried food should be enjoyed in moderation. But when it comes to the slew of comfort foods that contain colors with numbers and words you cannot pronounce, the simple potato chip stands out in a class by itself.
