There is a growing trend with many homeowners of painting the exterior in dark, bold and striking colors. In particular, shades of black are hot.  Pinterest is filled with homes painted with shades of onyx, carbon, ebony, graphite, caviar and raisin and they're not bad!  Dark, sophisticated colors work as they made the greenery around your home really pop and the contrast in tones and will definitely make your house stand out against the others on your block. The can also hide weird architectural features, such as a pediment. But this is Florida and darker colors will absorb more of the sun's energy, so that power bill may get a little heavier.  So sticking to lighter color may be just a necessity.  But before writing off dark and bold colors consider this, A recent 2018 Zillow study found that homes with black or charcoal front doors sold for about $6,271 more than expected. Not a bad return on investment for a $50 (give or take) gallon of paint.
