Even when they're overworked and underpaid, teachers still bring their a-game to the classroom.  So there’s no better group of professionals that could benefit from a relaxing sea cruise.  Thanks to Norwegian Cruise Line, your favorite teacher could be on a seven day cruise for free!  Ahead of Teachers Appreciation Week, which is May 6th through the 10th this year, 14 educators from around the United States and Canada will be chosen to spend a week aboard the Norwegian cruise of their choice! Not only will the winning teachers get a much-needed break, the school they teach at will receive a $15,000 donation from Norwegian Cruise Line! To be considered, teachers must be nominated between now and April 12, 2019 with a 250 word essay, photo and a social media account.  After the nomination process, it will be up to the public to vote for their teacher via social media. The cruise company says their Giving Joy campaign celebrates the power of education and travel, and reward teachers who have taken responsibility for our future, our children, and who lean into that responsibility with all they've got. It’s true that many educators believe travel and education go hand in hand. In fact, 74% of teachers in a study commissioned by the Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA) think that students who travel are more successful, and that travel can have far-reaching positive impacts on students’ careers and education. So nominate your deserving teach, or nominate yourself excellent educator, BY CLICKING HERE.
