Not-So-Common Ways To Get Quality Sleep

8 Hours of sleep are mostly a dream for many. The traditional methods of reading, counting sheep and listening to rainfall simply don't work.  So for you, perhaps some not-so-traditional methods will benefit you. Drink a glass of water before you go to bed and immediately when you wake up. Your brain has smaller mass when you wake up due to the hours of sleep where you don’t take in hydration.  So feeding your body water before bed and after sleep will ensure your brain is more hydrated and that means increased blood flow, more oxygen, and nutrient availability, allowing for increased levels of concentration, improved mood, and better sleep. Make sure your pillow isn't too big. While a puffy pillow may look cozy, if it's too large, it will push your head out of alignment, bending the spine unnaturally and causing physical unbalance. Consider sleeping al naturale. Believe it or not, some say taking off all the constricting articles of clothing is not only physically comfortable, it's a symbolic way of letting go of the day's stress and embracing the nightly shut-down. Finally, if you room is untidy, consider cleaning it up. A cluttered room creates a cluttered mind. By adding some order and clean lines in your room may be the mental break you need for a good night's sleep.
