Generally if you want to fly an F-16 Fighting Falcon supersonic multirole fighter aircraft, you'd have to join the U.S. Air Force.  But if you want to own one, you can buy a used one for $8 million! JetLease in Palm Beach, which brokers deals on the sale of all sorts of aircraft is looking for someone to buy a F-16 that was most recently operating in the country of Jordan, which is now in the process of liquidating some of their older jets. While it may sound like buying an airplane nearly 40 years old, this one is almost entirely intact, and comes with a Link16 wireless datalink system, a night-vision compatible cockpit with a Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System, and a data-bus for modern guided weapons. It is almost all intact because it has been demilitarized (sorry, no cannon or missiles). Of course, if you do have the cash for this 40-year-old fighter jet and the resources to maintain it, you also need to comply with the U.S. government’s ITARS (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) rules, which keeps these planes out of the hands of those who shouldn't be able to pull them apart, let alone fly them. The 1980 F-16 is one of three F-16 that are being sold by Jordan and can be purchased separately or together.
