Mardi Gras is not just a day, it's an entire season that starts on the feasts of the Epiphany (January 6th this year) and ending the day before Ash Wednesday, known as Mardi Gras, which is March 5th in 2019. This year you can enjoy the tradition of the Mardi Gras King Cake in ice cream form thanks to Blue Bell.  The ice cream company has been selling Mardi Gras and King Cake flavored ice cream in the New Orleans area for about a decade but this year they've combined the flavors and are distributing it all across the country. Mardi Gras King Cake ice cream features pastry pieces, cream cheese swirls, and colorful sprinkles in cinnamon cake-flavored ice cream. Half-gallons of Blue Bell's Mardi Gras King Cake ice cream can be found in stores now, but don't worry on taking a bite only to chomp into the plastic baby that is found in king cakes.  Blue bell says their Mardi Gras King Cake ice cream doesn't contain the traditional plastic toy.
