It is safe to say that Popeyes had no idea of just how popular its new chicken sandwich would be.  The company completely sold out its three month supply of chicken sandwiches in just three weeks after a Twitter feud between Chick-fil-A and Popeyes inspired consumers to taste the new sandwich for themselves. That enough for a Chattanooga, Tennessee man to sue Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on allegations of "false advertising" and "deceptive business practices." Craig Barr states in his lawsuit that he spent "countless hours" driving attempting to get the Popeyes sandwich to no avail. Barr said he became so desperate to try one of the sandwiches that he paid a man on Craigslist $25 to get one, only to be shut out again. He also said that while trying to go to a different Popeyes after his regular one was sold out, he cracked a rim on his car. Barr is seeking $5,000 in damages. Though Popeyes is currently sold out of the viral sandwich, the chain promised eager customers that it would return soon and become a regular menu item.
