Just like the food you eat and the cosmetics in your bag, electrical items have an expiry date too. Hair dryers, curling tongs, and straighteners all have a limited lifespan, as well as razors, hair curlers and the body of your electric toothbrush. For instance, your hair dryer needs to be replaced every two to seven years, according to expert hairstylists. The length of time depends on the quality of the product, and how often it's used. If you blow dry your hair every day, it will wear out much closer to two years than for occasional users. Hair straighteners are good for around four years. Just like hair dryers, it depends how much you use them as to whether or not they'll last longer. A tell-tale sign that you've overused your hair straightener is scratched plates, or the plates having worn down or 'lifted'. Another is the indicator light blinking and the fourth is smooth over the same section of hair numerous times.  Electric razors can last up to seven years.  Cheaper versions might make it a year with others carrying a guarantee of five to ten years. Proper and gentle care will ensure you get the most time with your razor. The average life span of your electric toothbrush is three to five years. Although many the body of the brush will last years, it's important to change the toothbrush head every three to four months, which is the same as a manual brush.
