Slow Internet is worse than no Internet at all! But with just a few troubleshooting points, you can speed up that connection. First, start at teh top and verify the Internet speed you are paying for from your provider.  They will gie you your uploand download speeds. Once you know that it's tiem to run a Internet speed test.  There are several websites, such as fast.com, that offer speed tests.  After you run them and find out your plan is fast but your connection is not, it's tiem to begin troubleshooting. The simpliest is to re-boot your modem and router with a simple turn off and on (remember to unplug it from it's power source for a few seconds) and see if that speeds thigns up.  It's probably not a bad idea to re-boot your devices too. The next step and probably most mis-understodd is your hardware.  Internet speeds have been getting faster but in teh infamous words of Star Trek Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott, "it can't handle it!" Many modems simply cannot process the faster speed. Likewise your WiFi or wired router may also be teh source of your slow Internet.  An equipment upgradde to match or even allow for future speed icnreases may be in order. If your hardware seems to be in working order, see if any other programs are hogging the connection. Shut down rpograms you are not using and free up bandwidth. If after allthat, you may need a service tecnicial to ccheck the actual wiring that connects your Internet.
