Visiting your doctor can be tricky at times with schedules and availability. Not to mention the costs. Over the past few years, online doctor visits have been a cheap and quick way to get a medical opinion (and sometimes a prescription) without leaving the house. The only drawback is that the doctor can not physically examine you. Now there's digital medical device on sale that gives your online doctor a way to gather real time data like they were in the room with you.  The TytoCare On Demand Medical Kit includes a device with cameras and sensors, including a thermometer, and three attachments: a digital stethoscope to listen to heart and lung sounds, an otoscope to look in your ears, and a tongue depressor to allow the camera to see the back of your throat. The company says their doctors can diagnose “ear infections, sore throats, fever, cold and flu, allergies, pink eye, nausea, constipation, asthma, bronchitis, upper respiratory infections, bug bites, and common skin conditions, including contact dermatitis, rash, and diaper rash.” Regular telehealth services can do most of these as well, but the kit can give doctors a better look. An app walks you through the process of using the devices, and connecting with Tyto for a video visit. The visits are $60 each, similar to other telehealth services. (Many insurance plans cover video visits.) The at-home medical kit sells for $300 and according to Tyto, you can buy the device with FSA money.
