When it comes to series finales, Game of Thrones fans came up a bit short!  IN fact an online petition calling for the final season to be remade with "competent writers" has garnered more than a million and a half signatures (and growing). While the likelihood of the petition actually working is slim to none, it hasn't stopped fans from speaking out to those who could make it happen, such as the President of Programming at HBO. But with so much backlash on one of televisions most beloved series of all-time, is the cable network seriously considering re-doing the finale? In short, no, say Casey Bloys, the head of HBO Programming.  At the Television Critics Association meeting, he went on record to say, "There are very, very few downsides to having a hugely popular show, but one I can think of is when you try to end it, many people have big opinions on how it should end. The petition shows a lot of enthusiasm and passion for the show, but it wasn’t something that we seriously considered.”  Rather HBO is focusing on the Game of Thrones prequel, which recently finished filming and will be released soon.
