Livability.com released its 10th annual list of Top 100 Best Places to Live this week, offering inspiration to anyone looking for a new city to call home, with Fort Collins, Colorado topping the list thanks to its friendly atmosphere and booming economy.  The annual list takes a look at amenities, demographics, economy, education, health care, housing, social and civic capital and transportation and infrastructure to determine the rankings. Ann Arbor, Michigan, Madison, Wisconsin, Portland, Maine and Rochester, Minnesota round out the top 5. The leading cities all have several things in common - many are home to large universities, some are in the suburbs of large metropolitan areas, and all offer something for everyone, from strong family-focused communities to strong job markets to thriving beer scenes.  Among the top 100 rankings, Gainesville comes in at 72.  The website says that "Gainesville is enjoying a creative renaissance that influences the way residents in this college town both work and play." Orlando ranked 29th, while Tallahassee came in at 81 with the final Florida City, Jacksonville making the list at 99. This year's list comes as American families have been forced to re-evaluate their priorities when it comes to where they choose to plant their roots, as the coronavirus pandemic has caused widespread economic instability and allowed many to work remotely.
