The latest Facebook scam is pretty convincing, which is why a lot of people are doing it.  It starts with a message from someone you know in messenger that somewhat reads, "I actually got another friend request from you yesterday, which I ignored so you may want to check your account.  Hold your finger on the message until the forward button appears.  Then his forward to all the people you want to forward too [sp]. I had to do the people individually. Good luck!" However don't forward that message as the message you received isn't from a friend but a scammer who is hoping you do forward so they can obtain the names and contact information on your friends.  To be sure there isn't another you on Facebook, search your name. If you see someone impersonating you, click on the “Report this profile” button on the bogus account’s page to have it reported to Facebook. If all things work as they should, the bogus account should be shut down within 24 hours. If you do see a fake you, then is a good time to just post something on your wall letting friends know what’s up. No need to spam everyone. If you see some of your friends are already friends with fake you, ping them privately and let them know they’ve been duped.
