When it comes to starting your day, routine is the key.   You wake up, start the coffee pot, feed the dog and then it's time to feed the kids. Partly because some kids are picky eater and partly because it's easy but chances are they eat the same thing for breakfast morning after morning. While experts say it's probably okay for the kids (and even you) to eat some of the same foods day after day but you may be missing out on nutrients your body needs. Since different foods contain different nutrients, limiting your diet too much might limits nutrition. While blueberries are a great example of a healthy food, but if it's the only fruit you ever eat, you'll be missing out on the high potassium content of bananas, for example. Getting protein from a variety of sources is important too since eggs, fish and yogurt all have their own unique micronutrient profiles. So the old saying is true, variety is the spice of life.
