When you sign up for a free trial with your credit card, there’s a risk that you’ll forget to cancel, and that's exactly why it can be a challenge to try and cancel it before you arE charged for a subscription.  However there is a power app that can do the legwork for you. DoNotPay is an iOS app for fighting traffic tickets, filing government paperwork, dealing with customer service to get refunds, and other financial-negotiation errands. The app offers Free Trial Card, a virtual credit card you can use to sign up for free trials without revealing your personal email address, your physical address, or even your real name. But! To use DoNotPay, you do need to enter your bank account login, and authorize it to add and remove money from your checking account. This is mostly so you can receive money from the app’s other features, but it’s also so the app can charge you $3/month for its services. And you have to enter that bank info before you can access any part of the app. Signing up is about as risky as signing up for Venmo: still a little risky, but only a little. However the ease of cancelling subscriptions is as simple as a few taps on your phone and the $3 a month fee for the app may be well worth saving hundreds of dollars in unused subscriptions with difficult cancellation policies.
