Politics Even Divide Which Alcohol Drinks We Consume

March 11, 2019

It seems our country is more polarized than ever over politics.  Perhaps we should all just sit down and discuss things over a beer?  Well there appears to be a link between your libation of choice and your political viewpoint. A new study finds that Democrats gravitate toward wine and brandy, while Republicans have a taste for bourbon and low-calorie beer. The study looked through two years of empty alcohol bottles and cans and tracked voter turnout, political affiliations and beverages choices to find that diehard Democrats enjoy brandy, Champagne, gin, Sauvignon Blanc and Stella Artois beer. Hardline Republicans prefer bourbon whiskey, scotch whiskey, cabernet sauvignon and Michelob Ultra.  While those who can see a little of both parties in their views tend to reach for a bottle of vodka, tequila, rum, cognac, Moscato, Blue Moon and Bud Light.
