Yep, we are nearing the end of 2018 and that means we get to review what we did this year.  Collins Dictionary is the first out with its word of 2018 and although not the Oxford English Dictionary or Scrabble Dictionary, which has more prestige, the word selected is one that is memorable. Collins Dictionary has named "single-use" its word of the year for 2018. While the term single-use has been around for quite some time, Collins says use of the term has increased fourfold since 2013 defined as an item to be used once and then disposed of or destroyed. With many cities enforcing single-use plastic bags this year along with many expanding the ban to straws and cutlery, it is no wonder single-use was crowned the king. Other top words of 2018 are Floss: not for your teeth but the dance involving your arms swing side to side as they floss from the front to the back of your body and Plogging, where you jog and pick up trash (like in Sweden).
