Meet Jambalaya

April 16, 2019

Welcome to the 98.5 KTK Wet Nose Wednesday web page, where we show you adoptable pets from local shelters that will make a great addition to your family!

This week we’d like to introduce you to Jambalaya.

Jambalaya is a beautiful & LARGE hound mix who is calmly curious about his world. His energy level is moderate and he is friendly and outgoing with all the people he meets, (although he might be a little much for small children -  just too easy to knock them over). Jambalaya is doing super well in his foster home where there are several other dogs of various sizes. One of his favorite pals to run and play chase with is a very small beagle. He shows affection to both foster mom and dad but doesn't jump on them at all or on the furniture. He's not had any accidents in the house and does not mark outside but just does his business.  He learned to use the dog door immediately and enjoys spending time outside hunting squirrels, but he is also happy to come back in and nap in the air conditioning.  Jambalaya may not be a huge fan of his crate, but he is learning that in his foster home good things happen in the crate - yummy breakfast, dinner and bedtime treats and belly rubs and snuggles.  He isn’t asking for much, just a yard to run in, maybe a few squirrels and someone to love him. If you would like to find out about Jambalaya please submit an application to learn more [CLICK HERE]. If you’d like to request more information, please email VOCAL [CLICK HERE] or call 352-289-0800.

VOCAL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has broken this mission down into 12 key steps to make Marion County a no-kill county. Some of these steps build upon one another, some can be worked in parallel, but all require contributions from people like you. Please consider a monetary donation, donation of needed items or becoming a volunteer.
